At 181 metres tall with 50 storeys, The Tower is a residential skyscraper. It is the tallest residential building in the UK. The building is divided into three distinct parts with a base that houses a lobby, business lounge, gym and spa; a middle section containing most of the apartments and an upper section where the façade reduces in diameter to provide 360° terraces. In August 2014, the Tower was nominated and made the Building Design short-list for that year’s Carbuncle Cup.
In consultation with Briggs & Forrester, Thermotec were asked to provide a complete design and installation scheme, in compliance with the latest environmental and technological heating systems. Thermotec delivered a fully integrated floor build up system using TPI11 Intafloor electric UFH and leveling screed in all bathroom en-suite areas and heated wall mats. The project was managed, installed and supervised by Thermotec, and was delivered on time and within budget.
